frost bite, parasites and other major medical issues which were treated,
where possible, before they went to their new forever homes. In the past
year, a cat named Sox... click to read more

| SPCA Press Release - May 7, 2012 |
The Board of Directors for the Clarenville Area SPCA is ecstatic that the new Animal Health and Protection Act has been proclaimed! The board would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation for the hard work that has been done by the many local businesses in the area, general public, volunteers of the SPCA, other SPCA groups, the Provincial SPCA board, and the Department of Natural Resources for making this a reality.
The heartbreaking case of Max, the most recent case of animal cruelty at the Clarenville Area SPCA has created such spirit in the public and we have been overwhelmed with the support provided to the shelter. From corporate entities like Tim Horton’s, Silverhawk Promotions, Clarenville Caribous Hockey Team, Clarenville Correctional Centre for Women, and Karlande Designs there is a great momentum building to work together to end animal cruelty in Newfoundland and Labrador.
The Clarenville Area SPCA believes education and public awareness is an important aspect in making a positive difference and is pleased to see an education component being worked on in this new legislation. We look forward to the development of the enforcement aspect and trust that by working together we can truly make a positive difference in animal welfare issues. As a SPCA branch, we continue to strive for more humane treatment of animals and believe we make a difference in the lives of animals that need protection.

Hello everyone, I know, I know, I'm just to cute! I'm Callie, a gorgeous little bunny who is looking for my second chance. I'm another little bunny who got dumped outside to fend for myself, but lucky for me someone found me and turned me over to a volunteer with the rescue before I was injured, or even worse, killed! I'm safe now and looking for that perfect family that will cherish me forever and ever!
