|Nanook Needs Your Help!!|
|We hate doing this again but Nanook needs our help A week ago, Nanook was diagnosed with an abscessed tooth, she would only eat soft dogfood and she was yelping in pain when trying to be examined at our vet clinic. She was put on antibiotics and pain meds and now is scheduled for dental work next Thurs. We have an estimation of costs between $600.00-$1000.00 depending on if she needs x-rays and bloodwork. Nanook is hoping that our shelter friends can help pay the costs of her dental work. Make sure your donation specifies that it is for Nanook.
You can donate by the Canada Helps Button on this page, by phoning in a Visa donation to 709-466-3489 or by EMT to email@example.com Nanook will appreciate your help :)

|Cat of the Week|
|We named this pretty girl Alexus!
This pretty female "mommy cat" was found in a shed in Arnolds Cove with her kitten that was only a few days old! Alexus spent eight weeks with her kitten, Angel, before she was adopted and is now all alone at the shelter. She is a bit anxious here at the shelter, but we believe she would be a great cat once she got into a home!
If you are interested in giving a cat a second chance, please consider adopting Alexus!
UPDATE: Alexus is now spayed!!
|Dog of the Week|
|Lucy is still patiently waiting for her forever home!
Lucy is a spayed female Husky mix, who is getting close to 6 years old. She has been at our shelter for over a year now and we have no idea why she keeps getting overlooked! She is a beautiful dog, with an amazing personality that would be a wonderful addition to someone's home. Lucy does have a few adoption restrictions, but that does not mean she isn't a great dog!
Since Lucy was originally a roamer in Labrador, she seems to still have a bit of her hunter instinct, therefore, she would not be able to go into a home with cats, or small critters. She does not do well with female dogs, but she seems to like smaller male dogs. She is used to being able to roam freely, so she will also need a home with a fenced in backyard where she can run but be safe at the same time.
Lucy would be a great companion for anyone that enjoys being outdoors. She loves to go for walks, and sometimes even ventures into the water in the warmer months. She really enjoys human companionship, especially children. She even tries to talk to you from time to time!
Lucy has become a big part of all of our hearts here at the shelter, but we would love to see her go to an amazing home where she can be loved by her family for the rest of her life!
|Small Critter of the Week|
|Iím Elliot, and Iím a skinny pig! Donít let my appearance fool you, Iím really cuddly! I love to be up and playing with my human friends, and I even like bunnies too :) Iím very social and like to investigate. I love carrots, blueberries, red pepper, green apple but mixed greens are my true favorite. If you think you can give me a home, please contact the rescue.
