Gordon
Hello all... Just wanted to let you know that Gordon is enjoying summer; so I am sending you along a couple of pictures... In one picture he is looking for pheasants on the marsh, the other is at "Dog Drink Brook" on the Dobson trail... Gordon and friends!!! He really has a super personality and is a little goofy (like most Setters) so he makes us laugh!!! Take care and have a good summer... Susan. : )
Meka
Hi Ladies, Attached are some pictures of Meka. She is doing great and loves to run around our property. She has taken over the livingroom with her 2 (yes 2) beds and all her toys but she sleeps in our room on her blanket on the floor right next to me everynight. She still gets really excited when new people come to the house but she is learning to control her barking and it seems to be working, people aren't as scard of her. She's a pretty big dog to have barking in your face :) She has also discovered that if she lies on our couch during the day when we are not home (or when she thinks we aren't home) that she can see right out the driveway so she has taken to lying on the couch during the day. We are trying to break her of that. She still dose not llike other animals but the neighbors cat dose not set her off anymore, she's more interested in where the cat is at this point so hopefully some day we can get a friend for Meka. I'll send more recent pictures when I get a chance to take some. Thanks again for everything Maria, Jeff and Meka
Charlotte & Tigger
Hey everyone, Well this November it will be 4 years Charlotte has lived here. She couldn't be happier, shes grown a whole lot, shes 63 pounds now, alot bigger then when she first came home (she was only 20 pounds). Shes a real friendly dog and loves cuddles and walks and napping with Tigger on the sofa. We can't imagine living without her. Every time we come home from work shes always waiting at the door with her tail wagging. Tigger is doing good, shes 10 years old now, and shes put on some weight but I guess everyone does with age. Shes a real friendly kitty with a big heart and a loud meow; shes always wants to have her meal when we eat supper at the table. But most of all she always wants to have cat naps and snuggle by us when were watching movies and tv. They both get along with each other great considering they are cat and dog. Hope all is well at the shelter, and that all of the dogs and cats find a forever home to call their own. Edgar, Nina, and Ashley

Dudley aka Bud
Hi Tina and Pam, Bud is now "Dudley" and he has found a home with a wonderful lady who actually adopted her Rufus from us a few years ago. Here is an update and pics of Dudley and Rufus. Sorry, I should have sent it before now but got busy with other things. Dudley and Rufus are very bonded now and Jennifer is delighted with her new boy.Best regards: Ann and Pete. Hi: I took these yesterday... Rufus and Dudley are beginning to play and chase each other around the house; quite cute to watch. This morning, I was sitting up in bed, and Rufus decided to follow/chase him around me. Dudley got a bit growly and I nudged him a couple of times and he stopped right away. They have again chased each other around since this morning. Both are eating; bowls on each side of the water dish and no problems whatsoever. Dudley has not bothered too much with his stitches from being neutered; he stops as soon as I tell him "no". As you pointed out, he has a growth (looks like a skin tag on steroids) which I'm going to have my vet, up here, take a look at and see if it can be removed. It could get injured when it's time for him to be groomed. I'm hoping to do that within the next few weeks.Jennifer
Sasha Aka Maycie
Just wanted to send a quick update on Sasha Aka Maycie. Today is the Anniversary that I adopted my precious dog. 2 years ago, I was on my way to your SPCA from St.John's to pick up the newest addition to our family. I have to admit I was nervous and excited, I didn't know how she would handle all the changes. From her previous home, where she was taken from, to your shelter, and finally to my home and besides that all that her puppies were all adopted! Well I have to say, I don't know what I would do without her now. I have found all my activites revolve around her and when I really don't want to walk she reminds me that I HAVE to. She is such a pleasure that I adopted another Golden. Attached you will find some pictures of my two babies. Have a Great day and keep up all the excellent work you do from day to day. These helpless animals deserve it.Krista Noseworthy
Raleigh aka Hannah
Hello everyone~ It's been quite a while since I've sent an update on my Raleigh, who was previously known as Hannah. I adopted her as a puppy just over two years ago - and I can easily say things haven't been the same since! She's changed from an over active, stubborn puppy to a beautiful and obedient friend. She's wonderful around large groups of people, children, babies, and other animals large and small. She walks nicely at my side, never passes me on stairs, will stay when told, loves car rides, and is eager to greet family and friends at the door - but she never jumps. Every evening at 10:30 she will go to the stairs and wait, looking back at me as if to say "Can we go to bed now?" And when we do go to my room, she goes straight to her kennel. Things have changed so much in both of our lives, and our situation has changed so much. Last summer my whole world turned upside down - but she made it bearable. No matter how upset I was, she could always make me smile. Any time I started to cry, she ran over to me and placed her head against me, often curling up with me until my tears stopped. Since then I've often wondered who rescued who. Thank you so much for allowing such joy into my life. Lots of love from Kayla & Raleigh.

Missy Moo
I just wanted to give you an update on Missy Moo. She has been with me for 1 1/2 years now and is doing great. She will be getting a new brother shortly and I think she will do fine. She makes frequent visits to my parents and she is ok with their dog. She doesn't want to cuddle with her but they are in each others company a great deal. I'm hoping for a smooth transition. I will have to make sure that she is comfortable with the new addition. I am very happy that she is in my life. She is a great companion. Denise
