Volunteer Appreciation Week

VOLUNTEERS MAKE A DIFFERENCE EVERY DAY!

This year we have had our best turn out to date and we have many people to thank. Our shelter simply would not fuction without the continued support of our dedicated thrift store staff, our evening volunteers, our snow removal crew, our Christmas sale helpers, our bake sale experts, and so on and so on. The list is endless and I know that we have missed people as well.

The Port Blandford Girl Guides Make a Special Trip!

We want to send out a special thank you to theses amazing girls, their leaders, and to the Port Blandford Quilting group. They came by last night to cuddle our shelter residents!

What an exciting night we had!! The Port Blandford Girl Guides came for a visit. Not only did they spend time playing and snuggling with the cats, they also came bearing gifts!

About 50 beautiful cat pillows which they HANDMADE just for us with help from the Port Blandford Quilting group! We LOVE them!

Thank you for visiting our SPCA. We hope you come to visit us again soon!

Clarenville Area SPCA AGM

Please note that the Clarenville Area SPCA annual meeting will take place on Wednesday, May 29, at 7 PM at the Sobeys Community Room, Clarenville. All are welcome, you can puchase your membership at our shelter at 125 Huntley Drive. Our shelter is open from 11-4 daily, 7 days a week. Our thrift store, located in the same building, is open from Monday to Saturday from 11-4.

Please note that May is cat special with all shelter residents having a reduced adoption fee.

Kitten Food Needed

We need your help! With “kitten season” fast approaching we know that our shelter will soon be overflowing with little ones and we do not have kitten enough food to keep their bellies full. Kitten food is easier on tummies and it is easier to digest. We currently have 9 kittens that we are feeding and currently we have just 2 bags of kitten food at the shelter.

Reduced Adoption Fees in May

We love all of our shelter residents and want to make it a little easier for you to love them too. For the month of May shelter residents will now have $100 adoption fees.

Kitten season is just around the corner and we want to make sure that our adult cats have the best chance at finding a loving home. With reduced adoption fees and amazing personalities, we hope that our adult cats will not have to wait long for their forever home.

Bonavista Cabots Female U15 Support the SPCA!

Bonavista Cabots Female U15 Support the SPCA!

We are so grateful for the community support we receive and this morning we want to send out a special thank you to the Bonavista Cabots Female U15 team. These kind and thoughtful young women have taken it upon themselves to advocate for our shelter animals! They worked hard and have collected shelter supplies and pet care items for us. They placed collection boxes in their schools, throughout the community, and collected items among family members.

Allie

A Clarenville SPCA Success Story :)

Allie was adopted from the shelter back in June 2018. She touched the hearts of all the shelter staff, volunteers and anyone who visited our shelter. Allie was with us a very long time but did eventually find her perfect home.

Here is what her new family had to say about her:

Forty Items in Forty Days

We have sent out the challenge and hope that you can help. If you are not close to our shelter why not choose a non-profit, group home, or shelter nearest you. Our thrift store allows us to provide a high level of care to our animals and the community support we receive is amazing. We have seen a drastic decline in donations and hope that this simple yet meaningful fundraiser will help to restock our shelves.

Donations can be made between 11-4, Monday to Saturday. For more information, please contact our store at 433-0004.
